Macarthur Square shares the same local spirit as you, proudly supporting the community.
Community Connect demonstrates the centre's continued dedication to helping the local community. Whenever you see the Community Connect logo, you know that Macarthur Square is giving something back.
Some of the organisations supported in the past 12 months include:
Kids of Macarthur
Since 2000, Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation has been Macarthur’s premier children’s charity. Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation aims to purchase the most technological paediatric medical equipment available to enhance the level of health care offered locally.
Macarthur Square has provided ongoing support to Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation, such as the annual Christmas Gift Wrapping Appeal, where patrons can have their presents gift wrapped for a gold coin donation. All proceeds are donated to Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation.
Australian Red Cross
Australian Red Cross is building a better society based on people helping people, saving lives and supporting people before and after disasters strike. Red Cross also works to assist our most vulnerable community members – no matter their circumstances.
Macarthur Square continues to support Australian Red Cross through blood donations. During the bushfires of Summer 2019/20, Lendlease donated $500,000 to the Australian Red Cross, and Macarthur Square collected donations at events held within the centre.
Youth Solutions
Youth Solutions is a youth drug and alcohol prevention and health promotion charity working with young people from 12 to 25 years of age and the broader community.
Youth Solutions works across the Macarthur and Wingecarribee regions of NSW, delivering health education programs, campaigns and activities aimed at reducing and preventing the community’s young people from experiencing the harms of drugs and alcohol.
Macarthur Square has been an ongoing supporter of Youth Solutions, sponsoring the annual Charity Ball.
Big Yelow Umbrella
Big Yellow Umbrella (BYU) has been providing services to the community for over 31 years. Founded in 1987 to provide community services and facilities for the new housing developments and associated growing population in the Macarthur region where there were no existing services, BYU has responded to the changing needs of the community as it has increased in size and diversity.
Orchid Society
Orchid growers who are part of the Campbelltown & District Orchid Society Inc (C&DOS) showcase locally grown, prize-winning Orchids biannually at Macarthur Square. The event is judged by accredited judges before the plants are made available to the public for purchase at Macarthur Square on behalf of the hobby growers at a reduced price.
Sustainability
Macarthur Square is committed to delivering a sustainable future where the assets created, owned and managed enhance people’s lives and allow communities to prosper.
